INDIA —Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has formally approved a strategic equity investment of up to INR 400 million in Splendid Hospitals Private Limited. Executed via primary capital infusion, the transaction secures KIMS an equity stake of up to 22 percent in the Kompally-based entity. The deal relies on a valuation assessment completed by BDO Valuation Advisory LLP and is scheduled for final closure by March 31, 2027.
Incorporated in 1973 and headquartered in Secunderabad, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) is a prominent Indian healthcare provider operating a regional network of multi-specialty tertiary hospitals across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
This transaction formalizes KIMS’s ongoing participation as the operations and management partner for Splendid Hospitals. The targeted hospital facility in Kompally currently holds structural potential to expand beyond 225 beds, equipped with contemporary diagnostic machinery and multiple operation theaters. Following a minimal revenue performance of INR 3 million in FY25, Splendid Hospitals reported a turnover of INR 13.9 million alongside a net loss of INR 89.2 million and a net worth of INR 386.9 million for FY26.
Transitioning from an asset-light management agreement into an equity partner reflects KIMS’s commitment to capturing rising healthcare demand in suburban Hyderabad. The infusion provides crucial primary capital to de-leverage operations and fund infrastructure scaling, transforming an underutilized unit into a high-capacity tertiary care hub.
This acquisition highlights a broader corporate strategy among major Indian hospital chains to consolidate regional healthcare markets through targeted equity stakes in local O&M facilities. By deploying capital into existing assets with proven expansion capacity, healthcare operators mitigate greenfield gestation risks while rapidly scaling bed capacity across high-growth suburban corridors.
