MALAYSIA —Kinergy Advancement Berhad has finalized a subcontract agreement valued at MYR47.5 million with Gamuda Engineering Sdn. Bhd. to execute comprehensive electrical works for a major hyperscale data centre development located in Bandar Spring Hill, Port Dickson. Under the terms of the agreement, the scope of work covers the complete engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of core and shell electrical infrastructure. This includes high-tension and low-voltage distribution networks, substations, switchgear, transformers, specialized cabling, power distribution units, lighting, uninterruptible power supply systems, electric vehicle charging facilities, and all associated control interfaces.
This award marks a significant strategic progression for the group, transitioning from collaborative joint-venture cable installation works undertaken in previous edge data centre projects toward a larger, standalone core and shell electrical execution mandate. By taking on comprehensive electrical packages for high-capacity facilities, the firm demonstrates its expanding engineering capabilities in handling complex, power-intensive infrastructure environments.
The contract arrives amid an accelerating investment cycle within the region's digital infrastructure sector, driven by surging demand for high-specification data facilities and cloud-computing capacity. Large-scale data centre developments require resilient, uninterrupted power networks and sophisticated electrical architecture to support intensive computing loads, elevating the role of specialized engineering contractors in the supply chain.
For corporate entities and industrial investors, the expansion highlights the growing commercial opportunities within specialized power and utility engineering frameworks. As regional investments in digital infrastructure scale up, firms capable of delivering end-to-end electrical solutions are positioned to capture higher-value contracts while navigating risk-adjusted returns and execution capacity constraints.
