Private equity firms KKR and Neuberger Capital Solutions have agreed to purchase a significant minority stake in health data platform Datavant. Existing investor New Mountain Capital will maintain majority control following the transaction, which is scheduled to close in Q4 2026.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Health data connectivity firm Datavant has reached an agreement under which investment funds managed by Neuberger Capital Solutions, Neuberger Private Markets, and KKR will acquire a significant minority equity stake in the enterprise. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. New Mountain Capital, which has backed Datavant since 2014, will retain its majority controlling interest. The deal remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions, with final completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Datavant is a US-based health data collaboration platform that enables healthcare providers, insurance payers, life science companies, and analytics firms to securely exchange and organize patient-level medical data. KKR & Co. Inc. and Neuberger Berman are global private equity and alternative investment management firms investing through specialized strategic growth and capital solutions funds. New Mountain Capital is an American alternative investment firm focused on recapitalizations and growth equity investments in healthcare and technology sectors.

The investment provides capital to accelerate Datavant's platform digitization, software integration, and data architecture expansion across the US healthcare ecosystem. Modern healthcare operations increasingly rely on secure inter-operable data exchange to support value-based payment models, clinical trial recruitment, automated claims processing, and artificial intelligence diagnostics. Datavant's data network connects more than 80,000 healthcare providers, 75 of the top 100 hospital systems, and over 350 commercial partners, covering approximately 90% of the US patient population.

This equity investment underscores growing institutional investor appetite for mission-critical digital health infrastructure and enterprise health IT solutions. For healthcare providers, pharmaceutical developers, and health maintenance organizations, institutional backing of underlying data networks stabilizes compliance frameworks and enhances interoperability across fragmented administrative and clinical databases. The recapitalization also highlights ongoing private equity activity in specialized health analytics and data governance assets amid rising demand for healthcare technology modernizations.
