Global investment firm KKR and Singapore Telecommunications have completed the joint acquisition of data center operator STT GDC from STT Communications. The transaction leaves KKR holding a controlling 75% stake while Singtel retains the remaining 25%.

SINGAPORE A joint consortium comprising KKR and Singapore Telecommunications has successfully closed the full acquisition of data center platform STT GDC from STT Communications. Under the completed ownership structure, KKR holds a majority 75% equity interest via KKR Opal Topco LP, while Singtel's wholly-owned subsidiary Singtel Interactive retains the remaining 25% stake through joint acquisition vehicle Opal Bidco.

Singapore Telecommunications is Asia's leading communications technology group, providing a wide portfolio of services from digital services and telecommunications to cloud and data center infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region. Target firm STT GDC is a prominent global data center provider offering carrier-neutral colocation services, critical digital infrastructure, and connectivity solutions across major international markets.

The successful consolidation of STT GDC under KKR and Singtel underscores the accelerating demand for digital infrastructure, hyperscale facilities, and cloud processing capacities across global enterprise markets. By aligning global private equity capital with regional telecom operating expertise, the transaction enhances the platform's financial capacity to expand data center footprints, support compute-heavy artificial intelligence workloads, and capture long-term enterprise cloud migration trends.

This landmark transaction highlights strong investor appetite for digital real estate and technology-enabling infrastructure, setting a key benchmark for multi-billion-dollar private equity buyouts in the infrastructure sector. The partnership provides STT GDC with strategic access to global institutional capital and operational synergies, enabling accelerated expansion across high-growth digital economies and expanding cross-border network capacity for enterprise customers.
