UNITED STATES OF AMERICA —Defense technology firm Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has landed contract awards exceeding $100 million to deliver advanced space domain awareness and cyber intelligence capabilities for joint military operations.
Under the new agreements, the company will focus on developing prototype software and mission platforms designed to gather and analyze radio frequency spectrum data. These technologies are intended to enhance operational intelligence, assist in offensive cyber strategies, and strengthen electronic warfare and battle damage assessment capabilities across space and defense environments.
The programs will rely heavily on Kratos' proprietary KnownSpace global radio frequency network, which operates across 20 international locations using more than 190 strategically positioned sensors, as well as field-portable space domain awareness terminals. By leveraging established commercial sensor arrays and software frameworks, the defense platform aims to rapidly deploy scalable technologies that support command and control, satellite tracking, and real-time operational targeting.
As space becomes an increasingly contested operational domain, joint military forces are prioritizing rapid integration of commercial space intelligence with defense infrastructure. This contract win highlights growing defense spending allocation toward hybrid warfare tools that bridge orbital monitoring with land-based cybersecurity and signal intelligence.
For aerospace and defense market participants, the agreement underscores the shift toward commercial-off-the-shelf sensor infrastructure and software-defined radio capabilities over costly custom hardware deployments. The integration of continuous spectrum surveillance and cyber assets enables national security agencies to lower procurement timelines while improving real-time space situational awareness.
