Krystal Integrated Services enters Urban Infrastructure Segment via Acquisition of Citelum India

Krystal Integrated Services Limited has completed the full acquisition of Citelum India Private Limited from France's EDF Group. The strategic transaction expands Krystal's reach into municipal smart lighting and urban electrical engineering, unlocking revenue streams in public infrastructure management.

Indian facility management firm Krystal Integrated Services Limited has acquired a 100% equity stake in Citelum India Private Limited from its existing shareholders, including France's state-owned EDF Group entity Citelum S.A.S. The deal establishes Citelum India as a wholly owned subsidiary, providing Krystal an immediate footprint in specialized city lighting and municipal electrical infrastructure operations.

Through this purchase, Krystal aims to generate 3 billion to 3.5 billion Indian rupees in annual revenue over the next three to four years from its newly created urban infrastructure vertical. To support this growth, the organization intends to direct approximately 1 billion Indian rupees toward scaling technological platforms, enhancing engineering capabilities, and broadening operations across 30 to 40 cities in up to 15 Indian states. The expanded infrastructure operations are projected to contribute 12% to 15% of the company's consolidated top line.

This move highlights a growing trend of service providers diversifying from traditional facility management into high-value, tech-enabled public assets. By taking control of Citelum India, a business established in 2011 with a track record of managing over 300,000 lighting units across major states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, Krystal positions itself to secure long-term public sector maintenance contracts and energy-efficiency programs.

For municipal authorities and infrastructure investors, the integration creates an end-to-end service partner capable of delivering complex smart city projects. The expansion integrates connected lighting, traffic monitoring, surveillance systems, remote sensor deployment, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Furthermore, the operational expansion is anticipated to generate over 5,000 skilled and semi-skilled employment opportunities across India's urban development ecosystem.
