Kubota accelerates Indian manufacturing hub strategy with massive facility expansion

Escorts Kubota has committed INR 20 billion to establish a major manufacturing plant in Uttar Pradesh, accelerating its global supply chain integration and scaling production of agricultural and construction machinery.

Escorts Kubota is expanding its manufacturing footprint through a planned investment of INR 20 billion to construct an advanced production complex in Uttar Pradesh. Located across 154 acres within Sector 10 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority zone in Gautam Buddha Nagar, the facility will serve as a primary manufacturing hub for both domestic supply and international exports.

The greenfield project will feature fully integrated infrastructure, bringing together machining, assembly, engine production, testing facilities, and a central spare parts distribution warehouse on a single site. Development will proceed in phases, with the initial stage adding an annual production capacity of 60,000 tractors and 15,000 units of construction equipment. Financing for the expansion will be drawn from internal cash reserves alongside proceeds from a prior preferential share issuance to parent entity Kubota Corporation.

The investment reflects a strategic pivot toward transforming India from a high-growth regional market into an international engineering and manufacturing center. By integrating automated assembly systems, digital quality controls and energy-efficient utilities, the project aligns directly with mid-term corporate objectives to create cost-effective manufacturing capabilities that support global supply chains through 2030.
