LINK Arkitektur advances toward long-term role in Kiruna hospital development

LINK Arkitektur AB has been chosen by NCC Sverige AB as the architectural partner for the planned new hospital in Kiruna, Sweden. The assignment begins under a letter of intent, with a final contract expected in August 2026 and potential work extending through 2031.

LINK Arkitektur AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Multiconsult ASA, has been selected by NCC Sverige AB to provide architectural services for Region Norrbotten's planned hospital in Kiruna, according to an official announcement. The parties have signed a letter of intent, enabling project work to begin ahead of the execution of a final contract, which is expected in August 2026.

The assignment covers architectural services from early planning and concept development through detailed design for a hospital exceeding 40,000 square metres. The project scope also includes a helicopter landing facility and supporting infrastructure. The first project phase is estimated at approximately SEK 30 million, while the total potential value, including optional work, is estimated at around SEK 80 million.

The hospital forms part of Kiruna's broader urban transformation and long-term public infrastructure programme, supporting healthcare capacity in northern Sweden while creating opportunities for the architecture, engineering and construction sectors.
