PERU; SWEDEN —Swedish cash distribution group Loomis secured 99.80 percent ownership in Hermes Transportes Blindados S.A. following a public tender offer that concluded with 87,072,827 shares tendered. The acquisition represents an investment of approximately USD 297 million and establishes a new operational footprint for Loomis in Peru. Financing for the transaction was structured through committed bridge and guarantee facilities before being refinanced using proceeds from a EUR 300 million bond offering.
Hermes Transportes Blindados provides security logistics services across Peru, specializing in secure transit, cash processing, automated teller machine maintenance, and valuable storage. Operating through 19 regional branches and employing around 3,400 people, the company services 1,000 corporate clients across retail, mining, finance, and public sectors. Loomis operates globally across more than 25 countries, supplying cash processing, high-security transport, and payment management services to financial institutions, commercial enterprise, and government clients.
Integrating Peru's primary cash-in-transit operator reinforces Loomis's broader Latin American footprint while expanding its market coverage into essential South American logistics networks. The operational framework of Hermes will now report through Loomis's Europe and Latin America division, preserving its local management team to ensure business continuity across regional operations.
This consolidation highlights ongoing strategic realignments within global physical payment infrastructure, where established multinational logistics operators acquire strong regional providers to diversify revenue streams. The transaction provides corporate clients, commercial banks, and mining firms in Peru with institutional security support backed by European capital infrastructure.
