JORDAN —Economic activity and commercial services within the Aqaba Special Economic Zone are expanding following the signing of two major agreements between Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) and Al Ameed Coffee Company. Formalized at ADC’s headquarters in the presence of Chief Executive Officer Hussein Safadi, the agreements establish a comprehensive industrial and commercial footprint for the brand in Aqaba.
The first agreement focuses on the establishment of a dedicated coffee production and roasting facility located within the premises of the National Real Estate Company Jordan at the South Aqaba Investment Complex. Signed by NREC Jordan Chief Operating Officer Mishal Al-Shiha and Al Ameed Coffee Company Managing Partner Basel Daher, the industrial project will utilize existing infrastructure to support local production, enhance food manufacturing capabilities, and leverage Aqaba's logistics advantages to facilitate exports into international markets. The project is expected to generate approximately 100 direct employment opportunities.
The second agreement awards Al Ameed Coffee Company the commercial tender to operate two coffee branches at King Hussein International Airport, situated respectively in the departures and arrivals halls. Signed by Airport General Manager Dr. Mohammad Sarayrah and Basel Daher, the initiative forms part of ongoing upgrades to enhance passenger amenities, elevate commercial service standards, and expand the visibility of established regional brands at key transport gateways.
ADC Chief Executive Officer Hussein Safadi emphasized that the dual partnerships reflect Aqaba's strong investment environment and its capacity to attract high-value projects spanning industrial production and tourism services. By integrating manufacturing and service-sector investments without state borrowing, the developments reinforce Aqaba's strategic positioning as an advanced regional hub for trade, investment, and logistics.
