MN Holdings Berhad has secured a RM293.9 million contract through its subsidiary to construct two high-voltage consumer landing stations for a major data centre development in Peninsular Malaysia. The project underscores the rising demand for robust electrical grid architecture to back the expanding digital infrastructure sector.

MALAYSIA —MN Power Transmission Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned operating subsidiary of infrastructure specialist MN Holdings Berhad, has formally accepted a letter of award valued at RM293.88 million, inclusive of sales and service tax. The scope of work encompasses the engineering, procurement, construction, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of two 275 kilovolt consumer landing stations alongside corresponding structural building and external site works.

This critical infrastructure project directly supports a large-scale data centre facility located within the Central Region of Peninsular Malaysia, commissioned by an enterprise specializing in cloud computing, data hosting, and digital processing services. Physical construction activities commenced in September 2026, with project handover scheduled for August 2027.

The agreement highlights the escalating technical requirements for high-voltage power transmission systems driven by rapid digital transformation and intensive cloud computing expansion across Southeast Asia. As data facilities demand immense electrical capacity for continuous operations, specialized engineering firms capable of managing complex grid integration face heightened operational activity.

The development primarily impacts regional utility providers, electrical engineering contractors, and digital real estate developers operating within the Malaysian telecommunications and power sectors. Industrial stakeholders must scale technical competencies in high-voltage substations to meet stringent grid connection codes and tight project schedules.

For market investors, the contract reinforces long-term growth prospects within the electrical utility sector, demonstrating sustained capital expenditure in mission-critical digital assets. Established in 2007, MN Holdings Berhad specializes in underground utility engineering, substation development, and electrical power system maintenance, leveraging comprehensive engineering capabilities to support large-scale national infrastructure projects.
