Nadara acquires Talveg to internalise wind O&M across European portfolio

Renewables operator Nadara has acquired wind services specialist Talveg to bring turbine maintenance in-house across its European assets. The deal follows a two-year collaboration that improved turbine availability from 60% to 95% at certain sites, supporting Nadara's strategy to control operational costs and extend asset lifecycles.

Nadara has acquired Talveg, a wind energy services provider specialising in major component replacements, up-tower repairs, and drone inspections, according to an official announcement. The transaction integrates 20 turbine maintenance specialists into Nadara's Asset Maintenance team, strengthening operational capabilities across its European portfolio. Financial terms were not disclosed. Nadara is a renewable energy company with wind, solar, and hydropower assets across Europe and the Americas. Talveg was founded in 2020 and has delivered technical services to wind farm operators, including performance audits and incident management.

The relationship began in 2023 when Nadara sought a maintenance partner for Belgian and French assets following a supplier transition. Talveg's work on these sites demonstrated measurable improvements, with turbine availability increasing from approximately 60% to 95% at certain locations. The acquisition aligns with Nadara's strategy to progressively internalise operations and maintenance across its portfolio. According to Bernardo Pinheiro, Head of M&A and Growth Business Programme at Nadara, bringing maintenance in-house enables knowledge retention, closer performance monitoring, and long-term cost control. The move addresses increasing service pricing from original equipment manufacturers as assets age beyond typical operational periods. This development matters for the renewable energy operations sector, where internalising maintenance functions allows asset owners to preserve margins amid declining power prices and rising turbine service costs.

For wind farm operators considering extended asset lifecycles beyond 20 years, in-house technical capability becomes critical to maintaining cost discipline and operational flexibility. The acquisition also reflects broader industry trends toward vertical integration as renewable portfolios mature. Stakeholders impacted include project investors seeking predictable returns, O&M contractors facing competition from asset owners, and turbine manufacturers adjusting service strategies. Talveg's specialists will continue supporting existing wind farms in Belgium and France while contributing to Nadara's wider European and UK portfolio, potentially influencing maintenance standards across the company's 7 GW of operational assets.
