Naval Group has extended its in-service support (ISS) agreement with the Egyptian Navy for five years, covering seven frontline vessels including a FREMM frigate, two helicopter carriers and four Gowind corvettes. The deal reinforces long-term industrial cooperation and local workforce development in Egypt.
Naval Group has signed a five-year extension of its in-service support (ISS) contract with the Egyptian Navy, expanding ongoing maintenance and technical assistance arrangements first established in 2019. The renewed agreement covers seven naval platforms central to Egypt’s surface fleet capabilities.
The vessels included in the scope are the FREMM multi-mission frigate Tahya Misr, the two Egyptian landing helicopter docks Gamal Abdel Nasser and Anwar El Sadat, as well as four Gowind-class corvettes: El Fateh, Port Said, El Moez and Al Ismailia.
The extension underscores sustained defense cooperation between France and Egypt over the past decade and supports fleet readiness through lifecycle maintenance and technical services. For Naval Group, the agreement secures continued operational presence in Egypt and includes commitments to expand local engineering and technical teams, reinforcing industrial participation and skills transfer within the country’s defense ecosystem.
