The National Cadet Corps has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology to launch a dual-stage cyber security capacity building initiative. This program aims to equip cadets with foundational digital hygiene and advanced defense skills to support national digital security objectives.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has formalized a collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) to implement a nationwide cyber security training framework. The NCC is India's premier youth development organization under the Ministry of Defence, while NIELIT serves as an autonomous scientific society focused on human resource development in the ICT sector. This initiative is designed to address the growing demand for digital literacy and technical defense capabilities among the nation's youth.

According to official disclosures, the program follows a tiered pedagogical approach. The initial phase consists of a 15-hour digital literacy and hygiene module accessible to all cadets via an online university platform. A subsequent intensive 60-hour practical stage, the Cyber Defender Programme, will provide merit-selected participants with hands-on exposure to threat identification tools and real-world simulations. This curriculum is aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

For businesses and government stakeholders, this development marks a significant move toward closing the cyber skills gap. By cultivating a grassroots pool of trained "Cyber Cadets," the initiative strengthens the human element of national digital infrastructure. Industries reliant on secure digital ecosystems will benefit from a more cyber-aware workforce capable of promoting safe internet practices across regional demographics. This proactive skill-building aligns with broader national digital transformation goals, ensuring that future professional cohorts are prepared for an increasingly complex threat landscape.
