SWEDEN —Örkelljunga Municipality has finalized a collaborative partnering agreement with NCC AB valued at approximately SEK 250 million to construct a modern indoor swim center and bowling facility. The project incorporates advanced energy-efficient engineering and aims to enhance local public recreational infrastructure ahead of its scheduled 2029 completion.
Following a joint planning and budgeting phase, the regional authorities and the contracting firm have advanced the leisure development initiative into its execution phase. The finalized facility will integrate directly with the existing Forum sports hall adjacent to Ljunga School, featuring a twenty-five-meter training tank, specialized rehabilitation areas, a sauna, and a six-lane bowling setup accompanied by spectator galleries and dining spaces.
Engineers have prioritized stringent energy efficiency measures, incorporating optimized fluid dynamics, gravity-flow mechanisms, and resilient construction materials to minimize lifecycle operating expenses. Furthermore, local landscaping elements will be preserved and relocated where feasible to mitigate environmental disruption during site preparation.
