FINLAND; SWEDEN —Nordic construction firm NCC has been contracted by social infrastructure operator Hemsö to construct a modern nursing facility in Turku, Finland, with the contract valued at approximately SEK 200 million. The project involves building a 7,800-square-meter facility with 170 care places designed to replace an outdated 1960s facility on the same site. Construction will start in September 2026, with completion slated for spring 2028, and the order will be logged under the NCC Building Nordics unit in Q3 2026. The new complex aims to earn a BREEAM Excellent environmental certification and will be operated by Varha, the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland.
