NORWAY —Netel Holding AB has been awarded a SEK 60 million agreement by grid operator Elvia to build the Isebakke substation located in Halden, situated south of Oslo. Operational execution will be handled by Netel's subsidiary, Nett-Tjenester, under a turnkey delivery framework encompassing high-voltage infrastructure, digital control systems, civil groundworks, and power line pylons. Completion of the facility is targeted for the post-summer period in 2028.
This infrastructure investment is designed to address rising electricity demands by expanding transmission capacity within the Halden sector and reinforcing overall operational stability. Elvia manages power distribution across Oslo, Akershus, Buskerud, and Østfold, serving a customer base exceeding two million individuals. Upgrading regional substations is a critical step in accommodating increased electrification across municipal and industrial sectors.
The development highlights ongoing capital deployment in Scandinavian power grids to support energy transition initiatives and rising consumption trends. Engineering, procurement, and construction providers specializing in electrical grids stand to benefit from sustained utility spending focused on modernization and capacity enhancement. For market participants, such municipal and regional utility contracts reflect predictable revenue pipelines amid broader infrastructure upgrades across Nordic energy markets.
