Netel will build a new electricity substation in Bollstabruk, north of Kramfors, under an agreement with E.ON Energidistribution valued at more than SEK 32 million. The project is scheduled for completion in 2029, expanding Netel’s involvement in Sweden’s electricity distribution infrastructure.

SWEDEN —Netel has secured an agreement worth more than SEK 32 million from E.ON Energidistribution for the construction of a new electricity substation in Bollstabruk, north of Kramfors in Sweden. Completion of the facility is planned for 2029.

The project adds to investment in Sweden’s local electricity distribution infrastructure, with the new substation expected to form part of the power network serving the surrounding area. For E.ON Energidistribution, the agreement supports the development of network infrastructure, while for Netel it represents additional construction activity within the Swedish power distribution market.

The contract is relevant to the infrastructure and utilities sectors because substation construction is a key component of electricity network expansion and modernization. Such projects create demand for electrical infrastructure contractors and related engineering and construction services, particularly in regional networks where capacity and reliability requirements are increasing.

Netel is an infrastructure services provider focused on the construction, maintenance and development of networks and related infrastructure. E.ON Energidistribution operates electricity distribution infrastructure in Sweden. The agreement therefore links a network infrastructure contractor with a major electricity distribution operator on a project extending through 2029.

For businesses active in Sweden’s power infrastructure supply chain, the project indicates continued contracting opportunities around distribution assets. The multi-year completion schedule also provides visibility into infrastructure work extending into 2029, while the contract value gives an indication of the scale of investment associated with the new substation.
