Waka Kotahi, also known as the New Zealand Transport Agency, is the crown entity tasked with managing national land transport planning, funding, and highway networks. To maintain immediate logistical continuity, engineering teams have deployed a temporary Bailey bridge, allowing restricted daytime transit between Wairoa and Napier while contractors work toward restoring full round-the-clock operations.
