INDIA —Niraj Cement Structurals Limited JV has secured a major domestic contract valued at INR 2,568.90 million from the Water Resource Department in Birpur, Bihar, for critical water security and road infrastructure construction. Under the Bihar Water Security and Irrigation Modernization Project (BWSIMP), the joint venture will execute comprehensive civil engineering works aimed at enhancing regional flood protection and transport connectivity. The domestic entity was awarded the contract through a standard competitive procurement process with an execution timeline of 32 months.
The full scope of work entails raising, strengthening, and constructing a flexible pavement covering a total length of 31.985 km from Km 14.00 to Km 26.275 of ESML under BWSIMP. Additionally, the project includes the restoration of 7 existing studs and the construction of 13 new studs to reinforce the structural integrity of the water management network. These measures are designed to modernize local irrigation structures, control soil erosion along water channels, and establish reliable transport routes for rural communities across the designated region.
