Ohmium International and InSolare Energy have partnered to deploy a 4 MW green hydrogen facility for NLC India Limited. Utilizing advanced Proton Exchange Membrane technology, the plant in Neyveli aims to produce 700 metric tons of hydrogen annually for industrial and mobility applications.

NLC India Limited, a state-owned enterprise specialized in fossil fuel mining and thermal power generation, is diversifying its portfolio through a new 4 MW green hydrogen installation in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu.

The project will be executed through a collaboration between PEM electrolyzer manufacturer Ohmium International and EPC specialist InSolare Energy. According to official disclosures, the facility is designed to generate approximately 700 metric tons of green hydrogen per annum, catering to power generation, industrial processes, and sustainable mobility.

This development is a significant step in localized hydrogen production, utilizing Ohmium's India-based manufacturing to ensure technological sovereignty.

For NLC India, the project serves as a pilot for scaling carbon-neutral energy solutions across its broader utility-scale operations.

For the wider energy sector, this highlights the growing maturity of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) ecosystem for hydrogen in India. By integrating high-efficiency modular electrolyzers with utility-scale solar and hybrid systems, the project demonstrates a viable blueprint for industrial decarbonization. Strategically, the partnership underscores the critical role of domestic manufacturing and R&D in meeting India’s national energy transition targets.

Investors should monitor this project as a benchmark for the scalability of PEM technology in diverse climatic conditions and its cost-competitiveness against traditional energy sources. The successful implementation of this 4 MW plant likely signals future large-scale procurement cycles as state-run entities pivot toward integrated clean energy infrastructure to mitigate carbon-related regulatory risks.
