Nordex Group has finalized a contract to supply 13 N175/6.X turbines for an 80 MW wind project in Spain, scheduled for 2027. The agreement includes a 20-year service commitment and an option for a 40 MW capacity expansion, highlighting the growing demand for high-efficiency onshore wind technology in the European market.

According to official disclosures, the Nordex Group has secured a new contract in Spain to supply 13 of its N175/6.X turbines for an initial 80 MW wind power installation. The project utilizes tubular steel towers with 112-meter hub heights, with onsite construction slated to commence in early 2027 followed by full commissioning by the end of that year.

The agreement is bolstered by a 20-year premium service arrangement and contains provisions for a 40 MW extension, potentially raising the total site capacity to 120 MW. Nordex Group is a major international manufacturer of onshore wind turbines with a strategic focus on high-yield turbine classes and long-term maintenance services.

This development is significant as it demonstrates the continued appetite for high-output turbine platforms that optimize energy yield per acre. For the Spanish energy sector, the project supports national decarbonization targets and reinforces the region’s status as a Tier-1 market for wind infrastructure. From a strategic perspective, the inclusion of long-term service contracts and expansion options reflects a shift in the renewable industry toward life-cycle asset management and modular scalability. Such structures provide investors with increased financial clarity regarding long-term operating costs. Furthermore, the deployment of next-generation turbine technology underscores a broader market trend of upgrading older wind portfolios to more efficient, high-capacity systems to maximize grid utility.
