NORWAY; SWEDEN —Multiconsult and Rejlers have initiated a merger of equals to establish a unified entity operating under the name Multiconsult Rejlers. This strategic consolidation unites two prominent engineering, architectural, and advisory service providers. Upon completion, anticipated in late 2026 or early 2027, the newly formed organization will generate combined annual revenues of approximately SEK 11.7 billion and an adjusted EBITA of SEK 795 million. The corporate structure will maintain a dual-headquarters model, with the primary head office situated in Stockholm and a major operational hub in Oslo.
Multiconsult is a leading Norwegian-based engineering and design consultancy with a strong footprint across infrastructure and energy sectors. Rejlers is a Swedish engineering consultancy firm specializing in sustainable energy transitions, digitalization, and infrastructure development. Both organizations have historically operated with significant market share in the Nordic region, complementing each other’s geographical and technical capabilities.
This development represents a significant consolidation within the Nordic engineering services market. By integrating their operations, the merged entity will achieve enhanced operational scale and broader service capabilities. The leadership structure designates Viktor Svensson, formerly of Rejlers, as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the combined group. Kristin O. Augestad will assume the role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer while retaining her position leading the Multiconsult Norway division, which will constitute the largest segment of the new organization with roughly 3,400 personnel.
The consolidation directly impacts the engineering, construction, and architectural sectors across Northern Europe and select international markets. The combined workforce of approximately 8,000 employees will span Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. Operational realignments are scheduled for 2027, integrating Rejlers Norway into the Multiconsult Norway segment, absorbing Iterio into the Swedish operations, and folding Multiconsult Poland into the Finland and International division.
For investors and corporate stakeholders, this merger signals a strategic push toward capturing larger-scale infrastructure and sustainability projects that require extensive multidisciplinary expertise. The transaction remains contingent upon shareholder ratification at an Extraordinary General Meeting scheduled for 19 October 2026, alongside standard merger control clearances and regulatory approvals. Successful execution will position the combined firm to compete more aggressively for major public procurement and private sector contracts across the evolving European infrastructure landscape.
