Nura Bio secures $73.8 million Series B funding to advance SARM1 inhibitors for ALS treatment

Nura Bio has closed a $73.8 million Series B financing round to accelerate the clinical development of its SARM1 inhibitor pipeline. The capital will fund phase 1 and 2 trials for neuroprotective treatments targeting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and other neurological conditions.

Nura Bio, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical firm focused on neuroprotective small molecule therapies, has secured $73.8 million in Series B financing. According to official disclosures, the round was led by The Column Group alongside Euclidean Capital, Samsara BioCapital, and Sanofi Ventures. The capital supports the clinical progression of the company’s SARM1 inhibitor portfolio.

This development addresses a critical unmet need, as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis currently lacks a cure. By targeting the SARM1 protein, which drives axon degeneration, the firm aims to deliver neuroprotection. NB-4746, an oral brain-penetrant inhibitor, initiated patient dosing in a phase 1b/2a ALS trial following successful early safety data. Concurrently, the next-generation covalent inhibitor NB-9402 entered its first-in-human phase 1a study.
