MALAYSIA; VIETNAM —OCK Group Berhad, through its unit VNC-55 Infrastructure Investment Company Limited, has secured an agreement to construct and operate digital network assets across major commercial, residential, and transport developments in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. The tripartite framework involves Southern Star Telecommunication Equipment Joint Stock Company-a subsidiary of Japan-based JTOWER-and Sun Group subsidiary Sun Phu Quoc. Under the arrangement, initial capital deployment will reach 13 billion Vietnamese dong, delivering operational connectivity facilities within a six- to 12-month period.
The investment grants OCK Group exclusive operating rights for 20 years over built-to-suit telecom towers and fibre network structures across assigned project zones. Southern Star Telecommunication Equipment will manage in-building coverage systems, while Sun Phu Quoc acts as the primary project developer. The scope encompasses convention centres, media hubs, hospitality assets, residential complexes, and airport infrastructure, serving both immediate connectivity requirements for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in 2027 and long-term regional demand.
Headquartered in Malaysia, OCK Group Berhad is a digital infrastructure and telecommunication network solutions provider managing a portfolio of over 5,500 towers across Southeast Asia. The company maintains operational footprints in several emerging regional markets, including Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Laos. The expansion strengthens OCK's presence as an independent tower operator while extending its long-term asset base in high-density development corridors.
This development underlines growing capital allocation toward shared digital infrastructure across Southeast Asia's tourism and economic hubs. By offloading specialized network deployment to independent tower companies and system integrators, major real estate developers can optimize capital expenditures while ensuring reliable high-capacity connectivity during large-scale international events. Furthermore, the 20-year concession model guarantees predictable recurring revenue streams for digital infrastructure operators expanding beyond their home markets.
