Paradeep Phosphates Limited has committed ₹47.5 billion to establish a new chemical and bio-fertilizer production facility in Odisha. The strategic investment aligns with the state's drive to foster industrial development, expand high-value chemical manufacturing, and enhance regional agricultural productivity.

INDIA —Indian fertilizer producer Paradeep Phosphates Limited has formalized an agreement with the Odisha state administration to execute an investment of ₹47.5 billion. Announced during the India Chem-2026 industrial convention in Mumbai, the capital injection will fund the construction of a modern chemical processing facility alongside a bio-fertilizer manufacturing plant. The project scope encompasses broad agrarian support initiatives aimed at optimizing crop yields and strengthening local supply chains.

Paradeep Phosphates Limited is a major private-sector manufacturer of phosphatic fertilizers in India. The company operates large-scale production facilities across the eastern and western coasts, producing complex fertilizers such as Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) and NPK complexes for national distribution.

This capital allocation represents a significant step in diversifying India’s domestic chemical supply base while reducing reliance on imported soil nutrients. By establishing advanced manufacturing infrastructure in Odisha, the facility enhances raw material security for domestic agriculture, directly mitigating supply disruption risks for downstream food production and agricultural commerce across Eastern India.

The investment reinforces Odisha's long-term policy strategy to transition into a leading industrial ecosystem for specialty chemicals and fertilizers. The influx of capital is expected to generate sustained direct and indirect employment across chemical engineering, logistics, and plant operations, creating sub-tier procurement opportunities for local equipment suppliers and service contractors.

For enterprise leaders and institutional investors, the development signals growing state-level policy support for capital-intensive industrial projects in Eastern India. Expanding bio-fertilizer capabilities positions the enterprise to capitalize on shifting market demand toward sustainable agricultural inputs, setting a benchmark for industrial integration in regional economic development.
