OEG has been contracted by Ørsted to supply specialized temporary power systems for the Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm. The agreement covers synchronized generator spreads for converter station commissioning and modular power units for turbine installation phases, reinforcing cross-project collaboration in European offshore wind infrastructure.

UNITED KINGDOM —Global energy solutions provider OEG has secured a contract from multinational renewable energy developer Ørsted to supply specialized temporary power systems for the Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm. Under the terms of the agreement, OEG will deploy synchronized high-capacity generator spreads aboard a jack-up vessel to support offshore converter station commissioning works. Additionally, the project scope includes delivering compact modular generators paired with specialized mountable fuel tanks to facilitate the turbine installation and commissioning phases while optimizing restricted workspace on transition pieces.

OEG is an international energy services company delivering integrated topside, marine, and renewable infrastructure support solutions across offshore project lifecycles. Ørsted is a Danish multinational power enterprise recognized as a global leader in the development, construction, and operation of large-scale offshore wind energy assets.

This contract execution builds on a multi-project collaboration between the two firms, following OEG's previous temporary power support for both the Hornsea 1 and Hornsea 2 developments. Providing reliable, synchronized electrical generation during converter station commissioning and turbine hook-up is critical for maintaining construction schedules and mitigating costly downtime in harsh marine environments where technical failures pose severe financial risks.

The agreement underscores the growing operational complexity of constructing gigawatt-scale offshore wind installations across European maritime markets. For renewable energy developers, marine logistics providers, and specialized engineering contractors, deploying space-efficient, modular temporary power configurations is increasingly vital as offshore projects scale in capacity. The partnership highlights sustained capital deployment into offshore wind infrastructure, offering steady commercial opportunities for specialized service providers capable of meeting strict technical and safety requirements in harsh offshore conditions.
