Hornbeck Offshore Services has completed its all-stock merger with Helix Energy Solutions Group, creating an integrated offshore service provider trading on the NYSE under ticker HOS. The combined firm brings subsea robotics, well intervention, and marine transport under unified leadership.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A major consolidation in the offshore energy services sector has reached completion following the all-stock transaction between Helix Energy Solutions Group and Hornbeck Offshore Services. Effective September 2, 2026, the combined entity operates under the Hornbeck Offshore Services name and trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HOS. Trading for Helix's former ticker, HLX, officially concluded at the end of the previous session. Todd M. Hornbeck leads the combined entity as President and Chief Executive Officer alongside Chairman William L. Transier.

Hornbeck Offshore Services is a marine logistics and subsea solutions provider specializing in vessel operations for deepwater oil and gas production, defense applications, and offshore renewable projects. Prior to the combination, Helix Energy Solutions Group operated as an offshore energy contractor delivering specialized subsea robotics, well intervention, and deepwater operations.

By unifying heavy vessel logistics with subsea robotics and well intervention systems, the transaction eliminates operational silos between surface transportation and subsea execution. Offshore operators increasingly seek turnkey contractors capable of managing complex subsea architecture alongside transportation requirements. This integration enables the firm to capture end-to-end service contracts while reducing procurement friction for field developers across the Atlantic basin, Gulf of Mexico, and international offshore basins.

The structural combination reflects ongoing efficiency drives within the broader marine energy ecosystem. Demand for integrated service offerings is accelerating across deepwater oil exploration, subsea asset maintenance, offshore wind construction, and government marine defense programs. Commercial operators and institutional investors face a shifting market landscape where operational scale, diversified asset portfolios, and fleet versatility dictate capital efficiency in subsea operations.
