INDIA —Indian renewable energy producer Orient Green Power Company has fulfilled its equity capital deployment targets after bringing a major solar facility online in southern India. Operating through its subsidiary Delta Renewable Energy, the company finalized the commissioning of a 17.60 MW AC (24.64 MW DC) solar installation across the Vandavasi and Chetpet taluks within the Thiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu. Combined with a prior 7 MW AC (9.8 MW DC) solar site activated in late 2025, the firm’s total active solar generation capacity reached 24.6 MW AC (34.44 MW DC).
Orient Green Power Company, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Chennai, is an independent producer dedicated to developing, owning, and operating a diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets, including wind power plants and solar installations across India. This operational achievement brings to a close the strategic solar expansion program pledged to shareholders under the company's 2024 rights issue, marking a full transition from development to commercial generation.
The successful execution of the project underscores growing demand and infrastructure momentum within India's clean energy landscape. Expanding renewable generation capacity supports regional grid stability in Tamil Nadu—one of India's most industrial heavy states—while assisting commercial consumers and public utilities in meeting mandatory renewable purchase obligations. Engineering, procurement, and construction services for the project were delivered by Remon Solutions under a framework executed in late 2025.
For institutional investors and energy sector analysts, the completion of the capital utilization plan eliminates execution risk regarding the company's rights issue promises. Expanding operational cash flows from generation assets improves asset-level earnings predictability while strengthening Orient Green Power's position to capitalize on long-term corporate power purchase agreements and state-level green energy transitions.
