Pattern Energy has completed its acquisition of Cordelio Power, adding approximately 1,550 MW of operating and in-construction wind, solar, and storage assets across the US and Canada. The deal expands Pattern's development pipeline and operational footprint as one of North America's largest independent clean energy infrastructure platforms.

Pattern Energy has completed its acquisition of Cordelio Power, an independent power producer in Canada and the United States, according to an official announcement. The transaction adds approximately 1,550 megawatts of operating and in-construction assets, including 16 wind, solar, and energy storage projects, along with the majority of Cordelio's development pipeline in key US markets and its experienced team.

Pattern Energy is a clean energy and transmission infrastructure company operating across North America. Cordelio Power was previously owned by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and other institutional investors. The combined platform strengthens Pattern's scale, development capabilities, and operational expertise to deliver complex clean energy infrastructure projects.

This development matters for North America's clean energy sector, where consolidation is accelerating as developers seek scale to compete for corporate power purchase agreements and grid interconnection slots. The acquisition adds assets in markets with strong renewable energy demand, including PJM, MISO, and ERCOT regions, as well as Canadian provinces.

For the renewable energy industry, the transaction reflects continued institutional appetite for diversified operating portfolios and development pipelines. Stakeholders including equipment suppliers, engineering contractors, and corporate off-takers stand to benefit from the expanded platform's ability to execute larger projects. Evercore served as exclusive financial advisor to Pattern Energy, with Skadden and Osler providing legal counsel. JPMorgan advised Cordelio.
