SWEDEN —Peab has been selected by Miljö och Vatten i Örnsköldsvik AB (Miva) for an eight-year framework agreement covering groundwork associated with public water and sewage infrastructure in Örnsköldsvik Municipality, Sweden. The arrangement has a value of SEK 100 million and is scheduled for order registration during the third quarter of 2026. The order will be recorded within Peab’s Civil Engineering business area.
The agreement establishes a mechanism for Miva to commission individual assignments over the contract period rather than awarding one defined construction project. Future call-offs will determine the scope and conditions of each assignment. The work can include new infrastructure as well as renewal, repair and maintenance of existing water and sewage facilities.
For Örnsköldsvik Municipality, the framework provides a longer-term procurement structure for maintaining and upgrading essential utility infrastructure. For Peab, it creates visibility over potential civil engineering work in the local market while allowing project volumes and scopes to be determined progressively as municipal requirements emerge.
The agreement is relevant to Sweden’s construction and civil engineering sector as municipalities continue to invest in the reliability and renewal of water and wastewater networks. Its multi-year structure also gives contractors an opportunity to participate in several infrastructure assignments under a common commercial framework, while Miva retains flexibility over the timing and specifications of individual works.

The framework will be implemented as a traditional contract and run for eight years. The successive call-off model means the stated SEK 100 million value represents the announced framework order value rather than a single construction project, with specific works to be defined during the agreement period.
