MALAYSIA —Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pansar Berhad, has officially accepted a subcontract valued at RM170.86 million for civil and structural engineering works under the second phase of regional water utility enhancements in the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) region. Awarded by KKB Engineering Berhad, the contract covers infrastructure development for a raw water intake and pumping network with a capacity of 160 million litres per day, alongside a 120 million litres per day water treatment plant and associated facilities.
This initiative addresses growing water demand from industrial parks and municipal developments within the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE). Securing the subcontract strengthens the project pipeline for engineering firms involved in regional utility upgrades. By expanding essential water infrastructure, the project is intended to support industrial operations and improve water supply reliability for manufacturing clusters across the corridor.
The project involves the engineering, procurement and construction sector, as well as regional water utility providers. Its scope is expected to generate activity for civil engineering contractors, construction material suppliers and specialist equipment providers. Continued investment in water infrastructure can also support employment and related supply-chain activity across the region.
Mobilisation is scheduled for November 2026, with a delivery period of 36 months. The subcontract is expected to contribute to Perbena Emas's revenue over the execution period, although the final financial outcome will depend on project delivery, costs and contractual terms. The works form part of broader infrastructure development supporting industrial and municipal requirements within SCORE.
Pansar Berhad is a diversified Malaysian company involved in building products, engineering solutions and marine-related businesses. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, serves as its construction arm. KKB Engineering Berhad, which awarded the subcontract, operates in the engineering and fabrication sector. The project will expand water intake, pumping and treatment capacity to meet the needs of the growing regional economic corridor.
