CHINA —Guangzhou (HX) Pony, Beijing (YX) Pony, and Qingdao Cyantron-all subsidiaries of autonomous driving developer Pony AI Inc.-have executed three separate framework agreements with Sinotrans Supply Chain, Maxx Logistics, and Sinotrans Qingdao to manage international logistics, export declaration, and freight forwarding for complete vehicle shipments.
Under the Freight Forwarding Services Framework Agreement, Sinotrans Supply Chain will act as an agent managing outbound freight forwarding operations from China to overseas destinations, covering customs clearance, cargo booking, container loading, and ocean transportation. The agreement runs from August 25, 2026, to June 30, 2029, with proposed annual caps totaling US$15.50 million across the term (US$2.00 million for 2026, US$3.50 million for 2027, US$4.80 million for 2028, and US$4.20 million for 2029). Simultaneously, Beijing (YX) Pony contracted Maxx Logistics for destination-side services, including import clearance, vehicle registration, and inland transport, featuring cumulative annual caps of US$18.00 million over the same timeframe (US$2.60 million for 2026, US$4.40 million for 2027, US$5.90 million for 2028, and US$5.10 million for 2029). Furthermore, Qingdao Cyantron engaged Sinotrans Qingdao for ocean freight management, terminal handling, and port handover services across international trade routes.
This strategic alliance directly addresses the operational bottlenecks associated with scaling autonomous mobility fleets across international borders. As Pony AI advances commercial deployment commitments-such as its partnership with Uber to deploy over 2,000 Robotaxis in Europe and ongoing negotiations for more than 4,000 vehicles globally-establishing robust supply chain channels ensures reliable distribution, regulatory compliance, and localized vehicle onboarding across key destination markets.
The collaboration highlights a growing convergence between deep-tech autonomous vehicle creators and traditional logistics giants. By leveraging Sinotrans’s global transport networks and customs management infrastructure, Pony AI optimizes operational expenditures while mitigating cross-border shipping risks. For global markets and investors, the transaction underscores the shift of autonomous transport technologies from pilot testing to large-scale international fleet commercialization.
