Qitaf Holding has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Madagascar's State Procurement Agency (SPM) to establish an integrated cross-border vanilla value chain linking Malagasy agricultural production with advanced processing facilities in Abu Dhabi.

MADAGASCAR; UNITED ARAB EMIRATES —Qitaf Holding, a fully owned unit of Abu Dhabi National Investment and Development (ADID), has entered into a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Madagascar's State Procurement Agency (SPM) to build an end-to-end vanilla and agricultural supply chain. Under the framework established during the Global Food Security Summit 2026, raw agricultural production in Madagascar will feed directly into downstream manufacturing and refined processing operations located in Abu Dhabi for subsequent distribution across international markets.

Abu Dhabi National Investment and Development (ADID) is a UAE-based public joint stock company established in 1974 that focuses on strategic investments across key economic and industrial sectors. Under the proposed alliance, Qitaf Holding plans to construct a centralized processing and manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi dedicated to extracting and refining high-value vanilla compounds. Concurrently, Madagascar's State Procurement Agency (SPM) will oversee upstream aggregation, farmer integration, quality control, and product traceability platforms within Madagascar.

This initiative directly aligns with broader efforts across the Middle East to strengthen food security, enhance agricultural supply resilience, and expand specialized industrial manufacturing capabilities. By transferring industrial processing activities to Abu Dhabi's logistics and commercial hubs, the project establishes a scalable cross-border agricultural corridor connecting African raw material production with capital-intensive manufacturing and global trade channels.

The joint platform is structured to produce specialized commercial inputs including extracts, powders, and high-purity flavorings targeted at multinational enterprise clients. Primary industrial demand for these outputs spans food and beverage manufacturing, cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceuticals, household goods, and specialized industrial applications. The agreement provides commercial buyers with improved supply chain transparency and standardized quality control, while expanding trade cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Madagascar.
