RailTel Corporation of India has secured a major Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) order valued at INR 337.85 million from Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. The contract highlights growing public sector collaboration to modernize IT infrastructure across India's railway services.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has received a significant purchase order valued at INR 337.85 million from the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) for the provision of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) in India. The domestic contract was officially awarded on July 30, 2026, and is scheduled for complete execution by September 30, 2029.

Under the terms of the agreement, RailTel will deliver comprehensive Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions to IRCTC. The duration of the project spans two years starting from the date of commissioning, with an operational option to extend the service for an additional year under the same terms and conditions. The agreement contains no related-party transactions or interest from promoter groups, ensuring standard arm's-length execution.

This partnership between two key Navratna public sector undertakings underscores the accelerated digital transformation within India's public transit ecosystem. By outsourcing core cloud and compute infrastructure, IRCTC enhances the scaling, reliability, and security of its digital reservation and ticketing operations, which serve millions of passengers daily across the national railway network.

From an industry perspective, the agreement reflects the expanding reliance of state-owned entities on enterprise-grade IT architecture and managed services. As public sector organizations modernize their digital footprint, demand for robust, localized cloud infrastructure continues to surge, opening higher-margin revenue streams for telecom and IT infrastructure providers like RailTel.

For market observers and investors, the order reinforces RailTel's strong positioning within the domestic cloud and telecom integration market. Securing predictable, multi-year service contracts strengthens RailTel's recurring revenue base while enabling IRCTC to maintain high availability and operational resilience without capital-intensive infrastructure overheads.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. is a Information and Communication Technology (ICT) service provider and public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, offering broadband, VPN, data center, and telecom network services across India. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) is a public sector entity that handles internet ticketing, catering, and tourism operations for the Indian Railways.
