INDIA —Indian state-owned telecommunications provider RailTel Corporation of India has selected STL Networks Limited as the lowest (L1) bidder for an integrated cloud infrastructure and data center transformation initiative valued at approximately ₹2.5 billion. Under the agreement, STL Networks will execute end-to-end design, deployment, and system integration across RailTel’s primary data center and disaster recovery facilities located in Gurugram and Secunderabad. The implementation plan spans a 180-day commissioning window followed by five years of comprehensive maintenance and warranty coverage.
RailTel Corporation of India, a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, specializes in telecom, data center and ICT services across the country. STL Networks Limited, operating under the Invenia brand, is an Indian digital infrastructure services provider offering system integration, networking, and cloud services to enterprise and government clients.
This contract reflects a accelerating push among public-sector organizations to upgrade core IT environments in response to expanding digital governance initiatives. Establishing a synchronized multi-tenant private cloud architecture across geographical sites ensures operational continuity, zero-data-loss replication capabilities, and heightened resilience against systemic network outages or data loss.
The modernization mandate directly addresses growing regulatory and operational requirements across Indian public enterprise ecosystems. By incorporating micro-segmentation, software-defined networking, automated workload migration, and stringent data protection frameworks, the project aligns with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act of 2023, national cloud standards set by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and local sourcing standards. For technology integrators and investors, the selection demonstrates the sustained commercial opportunities generated by government digital transformation programs.
