Rays Power Infra, through its subsidiary Bhalki Solar Power, has been awarded a mandate to develop a 200 MW round-the-clock renewable energy project for Indian Railways. The deal integrates solar, wind, and battery storage to ensure continuous green power supply by mid-2028.

Rays Power Infra has been commissioned to develop a 200 MW round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy system for Indian Railways. This project, managed through the subsidiary Bhalki Solar Power, is designed to provide a continuous green energy supply to Railways Energy Management Corporation Ltd. The development is projected to increase the firm’s order book by approximately INR 50 billion, with a scheduled completion date of June 2028. To meet the requirement for uninterrupted power, the infrastructure will integrate over 700 MW of combined solar and wind capacity. This will be bolstered by a battery energy storage system exceeding 1,000 MWh.

The company intends to utilize its own renewable energy parks for the execution and will incorporate solar modules featuring cells from its upcoming manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. Headquartered in India, Rays Power Infra is an integrated solar energy company specializing in EPC services and utility-scale renewable projects.

This development marks a significant step in the decarbonization of India’s transport infrastructure. By shifting toward RTC renewable models, large-scale state entities are reducing reliance on traditional grid power and volatile fossil fuel prices. For the renewable energy sector, this highlights a maturing market for hybrid storage solutions. Investors and stakeholders should note the increasing trend of domestic backward integration, as the use of internally manufactured components suggests a strategic move to insulate supply chains from global trade fluctuations.
