Engineering consultancy Rejlers has secured a four-year framework agreement with Gryaab to provide technical consulting services for wastewater processing plants in the Gothenburg region, supporting major capacity expansions and stricter environmental mandates through 2036.

SWEDEN —Engineering consultancy Rejlers has secured a four-year framework agreement with Gryaab to provide comprehensive technical consulting services for water and wastewater processing facilities in the Gothenburg region. The engagement encompasses multi-disciplinary support spanning process engineering, mechanical design, structural building, electrical systems, plumbing, geotechnical investigations, water engineering, and project management across the lifecycle of operations.

Rejlers AB is a leading Nordic engineering consultancy operating in Sweden, Finland, Norway, and the United Arab Emirates, delivering specialized technical expertise across energy, industrial, building, and infrastructure sectors. Gryaab is a regional municipal utility company responsible for wastewater treatment operations serving multiple municipalities in the Gothenburg metropolitan area.

This arrangement addresses pressing regional infrastructure demands driven by urbanization and tightening environmental regulations. Gryaab is advancing the New Rya development programme to expand Ryaverket, targeting an increase in operational capacity to handle wastewater from approximately 1.3 million inhabitants by 2036, up from roughly 800,000. Concurrently, updated European Union wastewater directives demand advanced separation capabilities, particularly regarding micropollutants such as pharmaceutical residues, necessitating substantial capital upgrades.

The partnership provides critical technical backing for public utility managers navigating complex regulatory shifts and long-term capital expenditure programs. Engineering and infrastructure providers stand to benefit from sustained demand for specialized consultancy services as municipal entities upgrade legacy networks to meet elevated environmental standards and demographic growth pressures.
