UNITED KINGDOM; UNITED STATES OF AMERICA —Roke Manor Research, a UK-based subsidiary of Chemring, has secured a multi-year supply agreement with a major US prime contractor for its Nav-Sync miniature radar altimeter (MRA). The arrangement is expected to generate at least US$170 million in value during its first five years and continue until at least 2035.
The initial production order is valued at US$16 million and covers the first 12 months of the agreement. Deliveries are scheduled to start in October 2026, establishing the initial production phase of the longer-term supply relationship.
The Nav-Sync MRA measures altitude using radar and is designed for high-speed platforms and uncrewed aerial vehicles. Its compact configuration and integrated antenna support installation where equipment size and weight are important constraints. The system is intended to provide altitude measurements over land and sea, including during low-level operations and in complex environments.
The agreement strengthens Roke's position in the international defence electronics supply chain and creates a long-term revenue opportunity tied to demand for airborne sensing equipment. For the US contractor, the arrangement provides access to a specialist radar altimeter for relevant platform programmes, although the customer and specific platforms have not been disclosed.
The expected contract duration offers visibility beyond the initial production order, while the US$16 million commitment establishes near-term demand ahead of deliveries beginning in 2026. The agreement may also support planning for manufacturing capacity and component procurement over the initial five-year period. The eventual revenue profile will depend on production schedules, subsequent orders and the continuation of the relationship through its expected extension.
