RP Global advances Croatia solar expansion with €14M Novalja project

Renewable energy developer RP Global has begun construction of a 21 MWp solar facility in Croatia’s Novalja region, marking a renewed phase of project execution in the country. The investment supports Croatia’s energy transition strategy and reflects continued foreign participation in the regional renewables market.

RP Global has initiated construction of a 21 MWp photovoltaic plant in the Novalja area of Croatia, according to company disclosures. The €14 million development has secured all required permits and approvals, with groundwork activities being accelerated ahead of the peak tourism season. The solar facility is scheduled to enter grid operation in the first quarter of 2026.

The project represents a strategic expansion of Croatia’s renewable energy capacity as the country seeks to diversify electricity generation and align with broader European decarbonization targets. Increased solar deployment is expected to support grid stability, reduce fossil fuel dependence, and create recurring local revenue streams for municipalities.

The development also signals renewed momentum in Croatia’s renewable infrastructure market after several years of limited large-scale project execution. RP Global, an international renewable energy investor and developer, entered the Croatian market in 2002 and was among the earliest foreign participants in the country’s renewable sector. The company previously developed two wind farms in Croatia and currently maintains a domestic project pipeline approaching 1 GW.
