YEIDA secures over Rs 50 billion in new investments as solar manufacturing drives industrial expansion in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh has announced over ₹50 billion in investments for the YEIDA region, led by CESC Green Power’s ₹38.5 billion 3 GW solar cell and module unit on 100 acres, alongside projects in electronics, IT, railways, and garment manufacturing, expected to generate more than 12,000 jobs.

Uttar Pradesh has announced investments exceeding ₹50 billion in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, according to an official statement from the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR).

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath handed over allotment letters to 17 companies. The largest proposal comes from CESC Green Power Ltd of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, which will set up a 3 GW solar cell and module manufacturing unit on 100 acres with an investment of ₹38.05 billion, expected to create approximately 5,000 jobs.

Integrated Batteries India Pvt Ltd will establish a 4 GW solar PV cell manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹11.46 billion, generating 500 jobs. In the IT/ITES sector, Arsenal Infosolutions will invest ₹711.9 million (1,140 jobs, 40% reserved for locals), Virtual Employee will invest ₹480 million (600 jobs), and Amadeus India will invest ₹1600 million (275 jobs). Quarks Technosoft will invest ₹474.7 million in a data processing centre employing around 1,800 people. In the electronics and manufacturing segment, multiple companies are investing in electronic products, appliances, transformers, EV chargers, and electrical equipment.

JMV LPS Ltd will set up a railway signalling products unit with an investment of ₹548 million and Sahu International Attire will establish a ready-made garment unit worth ₹700 million, creating nearly 2,000 jobs. Several companies have committed to prioritising local hiring, with some projects earmarking up to 90% of jobs for local youth.

This development matters because the statement noted that Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a major centre for green energy, electronics, IT, smart manufacturing, and modern industries, moving beyond an agriculture-based economy. The YEIDA region’s industrial momentum is expected to create employment opportunities for thousands of youth across multiple sectors. Industries impacted include solar manufacturing, electronics, IT services, railway equipment, and garment production.

Regional stakeholders include local job seekers in the YEIDA region, suppliers to solar and electronics manufacturing, and the state government’s industrial promotion agencies.

For investors, the allotments signal priority sector focus and land availability, though project execution timelines and global demand for solar cells and modules remain variable.

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is the industrial development authority for the region along the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh.

CESC Green Power Ltd is a renewable energy subsidiary of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, focused on solar manufacturing and power generation.
