INDIA —RPG Active Pharma Limited, a subsidiary of Mumbai-headquartered RPG Life Sciences Limited, has signed a Business Transfer Agreement to acquire the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and intermediates unit of Raghava Life Sciences Private Limited. The transaction, structured as a slump sale on a going-concern basis, carries a valuation of up to 1.35 billion rupees subject to customary adjustments and regulatory approvals. This purchase follows RPG Active Pharma's earlier integration of Actis Generics as part of its ongoing consolidation strategy within the active pharmaceutical ingredient space.
RPG Life Sciences Limited is an Indian pharmaceutical enterprise engaged in the development, manufacture, and marketing of generic drugs, branded formulations, and synthetic active pharmaceutical ingredients across domestic and global markets. The entity operates as part of the broader RPG Group conglomerate.
The deal integrates a modern nine-acre manufacturing and research facility situated near Hyderabad, Telangana, adding approximately 300 kiloliters of operational capacity. The acquired asset includes 22 commercialized active pharmaceutical ingredients alongside seven development-stage molecules targeting cardiovascular, diabetes, and central nervous system therapeutic segments. The manufacturing unit holds approvals from WHO-GMP and European authorities, complemented by international regulatory certifications including CEP and KDMF filings.
This consolidation enhances supply chain integration for active ingredient producers while strengthening market coverage across international jurisdictions. Through improved capacity utilization, product transfers, and cost alignment, RPG Active Pharma aims to build operating leverage and capture a larger share of the global pharmaceutical supply market. The move highlights broader consolidation trends in the Indian pharmaceutical sector, as companies leverage scale and regulatory compliance to address rising global demand for generic active ingredients.
