BRAZIL; UNITED STATES OF AMERICA —Global tax software and advisory firm Ryan has completed the strategic acquisition of Comtax, a tax consultancy and technology implementation specialist headquartered in São Paulo. Under the arrangement, Comtax’s leadership team and nearly 70 professionals will join Ryan’s Latin American business unit, providing the US-based multinational with an operational foothold in South America's largest economy.
Headquartered in Plano, Texas, Ryan operates as a global tax services and software provider, employing more than 7,600 workforce members and serving over 87,000 corporate clients across 80 countries. Comtax, founded in 2018, specializes in tax determination, regulatory compliance, digital audit defense, and ERP system integrations for large enterprise clients operating across Brazil.
The transactional expansion directly addresses the heightened regulatory demands of Brazil's intricate corporate tax landscape. By incorporating localized technology implementation capabilities for enterprise systems such as SAP and Oracle, the combined entity aims to streamline indirect tax determination, automated filing, and regulatory auditing for multinational enterprises operating within the region.
For cross-border enterprise clients and international investors, the acquisition enhances operational risk management by offering integrated digital tax governance solutions across jurisdictions. The deal highlights growing consolidation within the regulatory technology and tax advisory sectors as enterprise software systems increasingly require localized tax matrix configurations to ensure compliance.
