INDIA —Samara Capital has reached an agreement to secure an ownership stake in Associated Road Carriers and Calyx Container Terminals, uniting the two enterprises into a consolidated logistics organization. The combined operations registered a revenue figure of 21.4 billion rupees for the fiscal year 2025 to 2026. The transaction remains subject to necessary regulatory clearance.
Founded in 2007, Samara Capital is a private equity firm that invests in mid-market enterprises across sectors including consumer retail, healthcare, financial services, and business technology. This transaction represents the introduction of institutional capital following a generational transition within the promoter ownership group of the target entities. The deployment of fresh capital will focus on scaling branch and hub footprints, upgrading technological infrastructure, and reinforcing first-mile and last-mile operational capabilities.
The consolidation addresses increasing supply chain demand driven by manufacturing growth and regulatory alignment within the broader logistics market. By combining a domestic road transport network covering over 16,000 pin codes with port-linked container freight station operations, the integrated structure bridges domestic distribution and external trade logistics.
For market participants and institutional investors, the transaction illustrates the ongoing professionalization of traditional family-owned transportation networks to achieve greater density and efficiency. Scaled operators are positioned to capture shifting demand as trade corridors expand and supply chains consolidate.
