INDIA —Indian automotive component and industrial solutions provider Samvardhana Motherson International is expanding its manufacturing operations through a major equity acquisition. Under the approved transaction, the group's wholly owned subsidiary, Samvardhana Motherson Adsys Tech, will acquire a 50.1% controlling stake in Rotary Connectors from its current shareholders, subject to standard closing conditions. Following the completion of the buy-out, Rotary Connectors will operate as an indirect subsidiary of Samvardhana Motherson International, while the founding promoters will retain the remaining 49.9% interest in the business.
Samvardhana Motherson International is a global automotive wiring harness and component manufacturer specializing in electrical distribution systems, vision systems, and specialized industrial modules. The target entity, Rotary Connectors, operates in the specialized engineering and electrical connection sector, supplying components required for complex rotational and industrial applications.
This strategic transaction underscores a broader industry consolidation trend within advanced industrial manufacturing and automotive supply chains. By securing a majority position in Rotary Connectors, Samvardhana Motherson enhances its proprietary technological capabilities in specialized connector systems and rotational components. The integration allows the group to broaden its product line for global original equipment manufacturers, while mitigating supply chain vulnerabilities through vertical integration in high-value electrical components.
For industrial decision-makers and institutional investors, the joint ownership structure ensures operational continuity by retaining the technical expertise of the founding promoters alongside the global distribution and operational scale of Samvardhana Motherson. The transaction strengthens the group's market position across core industrial markets, positioning it to capture demand for specialized electrical hardware across automotive and industrial equipment sectors.
