Saudi Arabia’s NWC completes major SAR 128 million water storage project in Riyadh

The National Water Company has finalized the second phase of its strategic water security plan in western Riyadh, constructing five new reservoirs with a total capacity of 180,000 cubic meters to support rapid urban expansion.

The National Water Company (NWC) has finalized a major infrastructure project in western Riyadh, representing a capital investment exceeding SAR 128 million. As Saudi Arabia’s state-owned utility provider, NWC manages the kingdom’s water supply, wastewater treatment, and sanitation infrastructure. This latest development introduces five new water reservoirs, including a primary facility with a 100,000 cubic meter capacity and four supporting units of 20,000 cubic meters each, establishing an aggregated storage volume of 180,000 cubic meters alongside a pumping station capable of moving 125,000 cubic meters daily.

This deployment is part of the second phase of Riyadh's strategic water program, aiming to fortify national water security.
