Shell India and CleanMax co-invest in 30 MW hybrid renewable energy projects for industrial assets

CleanMax and Shell India have established a group-captive partnership to deploy 30 MW of hybrid wind-solar energy across Gujarat and Karnataka. These projects will provide stable, low-carbon electricity to Shell’s Hazira LNG terminal and its Bengaluru-based global technology center, highlighting a shift toward integrated renewable power for heavy industrial and research infrastructure.

According to official disclosures, CleanMax and Shell India have entered into a co-investment agreement to develop 30 MW of hybrid wind-solar power capacity. The projects are structured under a group-captive model to supply renewable electricity to Shell’s key assets in India. Specifically, a 16.83 MW hybrid plant in Gujarat will power the Hazira LNG terminal, while a 13.2 MW installation in Karnataka will support the Shell Technology Centre in Bengaluru. CleanMax is a prominent Indian provider of renewable energy solutions for the commercial and industrial sectors. Shell is a global energy major whose Bengaluru facility serves as its third-largest international center for energy innovation and digital engineering.

The deployment of hybrid energy systems is significant as it addresses the intermittency issues typically associated with single-source renewables.
