SJVN Ltd. has awarded an 80 MW wind power capacity development project in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, to Refex Green Power Ltd. The tariff-based long-term arrangement expands renewable generation capacity and supports India's broader clean energy transition goals.

INDIA State-owned energy company SJVN Ltd has issued a formal award to Refex Green Power Ltd for the creation of an 80 MW wind energy facility located in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Under the finalized framework, the selected developer will construct the complete wind asset, with full power supply expected to commence within 24 months. The off-take agreement establishes a 25-year power purchase arrangement at a fixed tariff rate of 3.88 rupees per kilowatt-hour, tying project revenue directly to net electricity generation delivered to the grid over the contractual period.

SJVN Ltd is a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh, primarily engaged in hydroelectric generation, thermal power, and utility-scale renewable energy development across India. Refex Green Power Ltd, a subsidiary of Refex Renewables & Infrastructure Ltd, specializes in developing utility-scale solar and wind infrastructure nationwide.

This initiative plays a critical role in advancing regional clean energy targets, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh's position as a core hub for renewable installations in southern India. By committing to competitive tariff-based power procurement, state entities continue to reduce reliance on conventional generation while enhancing long-term grid balance through diversified wind capacity.

The agreement underscores sustained momentum within the Indian renewable power sector, where long-duration contracts provide income predictability for asset developers. For institutional investors and power suppliers, such structured procurement models highlight the viability of long-term capital deployment in regional wind markets despite broader supply chain and implementation timelines.
