FINLAND —Nordic construction group Skanska has signed a EUR 77 million contract with a technology company to build a data center facility in Finland. Skanska will execute the core and shell construction for the new facility, with the project booking included in the company's Nordic order bookings for the third quarter of 2026.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin during the fourth quarter of 2026, with overall completion targeted for the third quarter of 2027. Skanska AB is a global project development and construction firm based in Sweden, reporting revenue of SEK 179 billion in 2025 and operating across select markets in the Nordics, Europe, and the United States.
This major award underscores the growing demand for robust digital infrastructure across Northern Europe. Cold climates, reliable energy grids, and strong connectivity make the Nordic region an increasingly attractive market for international technology companies expanding their data infrastructure.
For construction and technology sector stakeholders, large-scale data center projects represent sustained opportunities in high-tech building solutions and specialized engineering. The transaction highlights continued capital expenditure by tech giants into regional infrastructure, reinforcing market stability for leading Nordic contractors.
