Skanska has secured a NOK 320 million contract to design and construct the Langevann healthcare center in Egersund, Norway. The 8,000-square-meter facility will consolidate municipal healthcare and care services, including a 60-room nursing home. Construction is scheduled to start in November 2026, with completion targeted for January 2029.

NORWAY —Skanska has entered into a construction agreement with Eigersund Municipality in Norway for the design and construction of the Langevann healthcare center in Egersund. Valued at approximately NOK 320 million, equivalent to around SEK 310 million, the contract is scheduled to be recorded in Skanska's Nordic order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The planned facility will cover approximately 8,000 square meters and combine several municipal healthcare and social care functions within one site. Its main components include a nursing home with 60 resident rooms, a day activity center, a production kitchen and dedicated premises for healthcare and care services. The development will also replace parts of the municipality's existing building infrastructure, supporting the consolidation of services in a purpose-built facility.

The project addresses the infrastructure requirements of local healthcare provision by creating space for residential care, day services and related operational functions. Bringing these activities together could help the municipality coordinate service delivery and use staff, facilities and supporting infrastructure more efficiently. The facility's flexible design is intended to accommodate the operational needs of residents, employees and visitors as municipal care requirements evolve.

Construction is planned to commence in November 2026, with completion expected in January 2029. The multi-year schedule places the project within Norway's ongoing demand for public-sector building infrastructure, particularly facilities supporting healthcare and residential care services. Successful delivery will depend on coordinating building works, technical installations and the requirements of a functioning care environment.

For Skanska, the contract adds a municipal healthcare development to its Nordic construction pipeline and provides a contribution to order bookings in the final quarter of 2026. For Eigersund Municipality, the investment represents a redevelopment of local care infrastructure, with implications for future service capacity and facility management. The project also illustrates the role of public-sector construction spending in generating opportunities for engineering, building systems and specialist construction suppliers.

Skanska is an international construction and project development group operating across markets including the Nordic region. Eigersund Municipality is the local government authority responsible for municipal services in Egersund, including the development and provision of local healthcare and care infrastructure.
